BioHi, I'm Mel.
I recently graduated from Olivet College in Michigan with a B.A. in English and I'll be starting grad school at Roosevelt University in Chicago this fall, pursuing an M.F.A. in creative writing with an emphasis in non-fiction. I love writing about people and places, as well as about my own experiences. I'm also getting into photography. One of my main interests is figure skating, and I write and take pictures for ice-dance.com. During the skating season, I can often be found shivering in ice rinks around North America.
I want to visit every American state and every Canadian province. I have a list of countries I'd like to visit that's a mile long. I'd love to create a career out of traveling, writing, and photography. I love kids, and hope to have them someday. Most of my favourite memories are from the trips I've taken with my friends. As much as I love seeing new places, I still haven't been anywhere I love more than Chicago.
